San Juan Port, Puerto Rico |
The Port of San Juan is a seaport facility in Puerto Rico.
The port is made up on sixteen piers in total of which half service passenger
ships while the other eight are used for cargo ships.
The port has great connections with its location to the Luis
Muñoz Marín International Airport and the Cataño Ferry "Lancha de
Cataño" services and is owned by the Puerto Rico Ports authority.
The bay and loading docks seen in the picture are found next
to the San Antonio Canal. The Port’s cargo facilities are located on the
southern portion of San Juan Bay. Of the eight cargo bays, five are in the
Puerto Nuevo and the rest in Guaynabo.
More than 500,000 square feet of cargo
can be loaded and unloaded at the port.
